Sound
Sound waves are transverse waves, the source of which is always in the vibrations of material objects. Sound waves need a medium to travel through such as a solid, liquid, or gas.
Resonance: A phenomenon that occurs when the frequency of forced vibrations on an object matches the object's natural frequency, and a dramatic increase in amplitude results.
Example: Let's say you're pushing your friend on the swing. Anyone who has done this knows that timing is key to be able to push your friend higher. This is the same with resonance to create a higher amplitude, timing is important.
